Tozeur, the “Chott El Jerid”, the mountain oases, the camel train in the desert.
Day 1 : DJERBA
Reception of the participants at Djerba airport, transfer and check-in at your boutique hotel or 3* hotel (half board formula).
Day 2 : DJERBA – TOZEUR
Early in the morning departure by the ferry. Visit of Mareth military museum about World War II. Break in Matmata and visit of a troglodyte house. Continuation towards Douz and lunch on-the-spot. After lunch, road to Kebili and break at the warm water springs. Crossing the salt lake Chott el Djerid with a break to take photographs of this special landscape. Arrival at Tozeur, and visit by carriages, across the palm grove. Check-in, dinner and night at the 4* hotel.
Day 3 : TOZEUR
Departure to Eden Palm, the Palm tree Museum, return to the city center to discover the ancient medina in the district of Ouled el Hadef. Lunch at the hotel. Then we resume our tour by 4 x4 for a visit of the mountain oases: Chebika, Tamerza et Midès. Dinner and night at the hotel.
Day 4 : TOZEUR – EL FAOUAR
Departure early in the morning. Break to visit the oasis valley named “Corbeille de Nefta” (The Nefta basket) and continuation to El Faouar.
You will cross again the Chott el Jerid by way of Blidet, Nouail, El Dergine up to the meeting place with the guide and his camel driver’s team.
Lunch.
Departure of the camel train for an adventure of three days in the Great Oriental Erg. First night in the desert.
Day 5 : CAMEL RIDE
A whole day immersed in the peace of the desert, to listen to the silence and forget the rest. Second night in the desert.
Day 6 : LAST DAY of CAMEL RIDE
The camel train joins the palm grove of Douz at the end of the day. Check-in at your 4* hotel (half-board formula).
Day 7 : DOUZ – DJERBA
Departure from Douz in the morning. Photo break in Tamezret. Lunch in Matmata. Continuation to join Djerba through the road of Toujane and via the Roman roadway. Arrival in Djerba, check-in at your boutique hotel or 3* hotel (half board formula).
Day 8 : Departure from DJERBA
Free time for lunch. Transfer t0 the airport and assistance with departure formalities.
