Discovery of Tozeur, Nefta, the mountain oases, the chott El Jerid and Douz…
Day 1 – Sunday :Arrival in Tozeur
Reception of the participants at Tozeur airport, transfer and check-in at your three-star hotel (half board formula).
Day 2 – Monday : Tozeur
Departure at 8:30 am by carriages, across the palm grove up to “Eden Palm” and visit of the Palm tree Museum. Return to the city center to discover the ancient medina in the district of Ouled el Hadef. Lunch at the hotel. Free time in the afternoon. Dinner and night at the hotel.
Day 3 – Tuesday : The Red Lizard and the Mountain Oases
Departure by 4 x 4 toward Metlaoui and boarding on the famous train “The Red Lizard” for crossing gorges Selja. Recovery of 4 x 4 to visit the mountain oases: Midès, Tamerza (lunch – visit waterfalls) and Chebika. Return to Tozeur. Dinner and night at the hotel.
Day 4 – Wednesday : Tozeur-Nefta-Ong Djemel-Tozeur
Free time in the morning. Lunch at the hotel and departure by 4 x 4 to visit a traditional brickyard. Then we visit the oasis valley named “Corbeille de Nefta” (The Nefta basket), before hitting the road again to Ong Djemel (the shooting location of “Star Wars” movies) to admire the fabulous sunset colors on the high sand dunes of the Sahara. Return to Tozeur. Dinner and night at the hotel.
Day 5 – Thursday : Tozeur-Douz-Tozeur
Departure by 4 x 4 across the salt lake Chott el Djerid with a break to take photographs of this special landscape. Arrival at Douz and visit of the weekly market and the cattle market. Opportunity to make a camel ballad (additional fee) if you wish. Lunch. Return to Tozeur across the palm groves of Nouïl, Blidet, Telmine with a break to take photographs at the edge of the sand dunes where begins the Great Oriental Erg. Then visit of the Sidi Boualel mausoleum and the surrounding canyons. Arrival at Tozeur. Dinner and night at the hotel.
Day 6 – Friday : Tozeur-Sened-Tozeur
Departure by 4 x 4 towards the Berber village of Sened through the road of Gafsa. On arrival, visit of Berber caves and of a traditional Berber village. Lunch at a local villager house. Return to Tozeur through the mountain, across El Guettar canyons. Dinner and night at the hotel.
Day 7 – Saturday : Tozeur
Free time all day for activities of your choice or the visit of the weekly market in the afternoon. Lunch, dinner and night at the hotel.
Day 8 – Sunday : Departure of Tozeur
Free time for lunch. Transfer at the airport and assistance with the formalities of departure.
