Tataouine and the Berber villages, Douz and its white sand dunes.
Day 1 : DJERBA
Reception of the participants at Djerba airport, transfer and check-in at your 3* hotel (half board formula) in Djerba.
Day 2 : DJERBA – TATAOUINE
Departure, we leave Djerba island by the Roman roadway, toward Medenine (coffee break). We continue our trip toward Guermassa, considered as one of the most tremendous peak villages in the Tunisian southeast ; the ancient citadel groups an archeological World Heritage complex. Continuation towards Chenini. The village climbs along a cliff, reaching the ruins of a Ksar, at the top. Up there, the view is breathtaking! Visit of semi-troglodyte houses with a local guide.

After the traditional tea, departure to visit Ksar Ouled Soltane which ranks among the most remarkable ksours in Tunisia. Its special feature is the second yard from the 19th century, extending the first from the 15th century. Then we head toward Ksar Jelidat, to admire a set of perfectly conserved fortified granaries, and ride back to Tataouine.
Dinner and night at a boutique hotel perfectly suited to the environment.
Day 3 :TATAOUINE
After breakfast, we take the road to Ghomrassen and to the rock paintings of Aïn Sefri Caves. Break and free time in Tataouine to taste and purchase the region’s pastry specialty: “gazelle horns”. Break at the base of the cliff to take photos at Sidi Arfa Marabout landmark; the marabou sits atop a cliff overlooking the city of its height.
Return to « Tataouine-les-bains » for a walk in the local market.
Lunch at the hotel, and visit of the Earth Memory Museum which demonstrates the presence of many dinosaurs in the region during the Mesozoic era. Visit of a traditional craft village. Then we follow the trail that climbs to the city heights, to discover part of the former French military prison, closed in 1938.

Day 4 : TATAOUINE – KSAR GHILANE – DOUZ
After breakfast, we take the trail leading to Ksar Ghilane ; photo break at the monument celebrating Leclerc’s Column. Free time to enjoy the warm water spring. Possible camel ride or quad ride to the Roman Fort (extra fee). Lunch on the spot. We resume our trip toward Douz via Ksar Tarcine. Dinner and night at your 4* hotel.
Day 5 : DOUZ
Early in the morning, visit of Douz livestock market. Later in the morning, free time to stroll along Douz weekly market on the main square. You can also try sports such as karting, quad riding or flying an ultralight (extra fee).
Lunch at the hotel. Visit of a palm grove. Back onto the road toward Sabria where we meet the cameleers team and go for a camel hike among the sand dunes to watch the Sahara sunset.
Dinner and night at your 4* hotel.
Day 6 : DOUZ
4 x 4 loop in the Sahara and picnic lunch in the desert.

Day 7 : DOUZ – GABES – MATMATA – DJERBA
Departure toward Gabes and the popular market of Jara (spices, henna and wickerwork). Continuation of the trip toward Matmata. Lunch. Visit of a troglodyte house. Ride across Toujane (Photo break), return to Djerba island by ferry. Dinner and night at your 3* hotel.
Day 8 : Departure from DJERBA
Free time for lunch. Transfer to the airport and assistance with departure formalities.
