Departure on 7.45am from your hotel in Djerba for a transfer by 4×4 to Matmata, meeting point with Zied, our local guide, specialist of tours in the mountains of Matmata.
Circuit, looping, from Matmata to Matmata which will take you to the landscapes of Tamezret shaped by erosion and the magnificent site of the Amazigh village of Zeraoua.
Crossing of the djebel Mogor to reach the village of Zammour passing by Ksar Hallouf, for the visit of this Berber ensemble of ancient fortified granaries also called ksours.
Continuation of the discovery of the Dahar massif towards the south. This day will take you from Zammour to the Berber village of Chenini.
This day will make you discover the Berber villages from Chenini to Douiret, passing by Guermessa, considered as one of the most formidable villages of crest of southeast Tunisia. Situated some 10 km south-west of Ghomrassen, the ancient citadel of Guermessa, includes a full archaeological complex, declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco.
You leave the Dahar massif to take the tracks which, in the rocky plain of the reg, will lead you to the Saharan oasis of Ksar Ghilane. There you can enjoy the sulfured hot spring water, to the thermal virtues, in free access. Additional activities are possible (extra fees): quad biking in the dunes, or horseback or camel rides, towards the Roman fort of Tisavar, for a magnificent view during the sunset on the Sahara desert.
You leave behind, the dunes of the “Great Oriental Erg” to reach the island of Djerba.
