Kitesurfing or windsurfing or kiteboarding is a sport consisting to evolve by gliding with a board on the surface of a body of water being towed by a kite specially adapted, named wing or sail. The kitesurfer is attached to the wing by a harness, and he drives using a bar in which are connected traction lines. The board can be inspired by wakeboarding, symmetrical, without front or back side, or similar to a small surf. The kitesurfer is subject in his mode of travel to the physical laws of sailing.
Kitesurf center of our partner, for this leisure activity, is located on the beach of Sidi Smael, halfway between Houmt Souk, the capital of the island of Djerba and the tourist area of Midoun. Kitesurf activity takes place mainly on the spot Smile Beach, a huge lagoon of 32 km2 , where the school has a 800 meters private beach. Thanks to its privileged location exposed to prevailing winds from West in winter and to East winds in summer, the kitesurfing site is open all year. This beautiful smooth water lagoon and shallow is ideal for learning to kitesurfing beginners and for acrobatics of experienced kitesurfers .
The school specializes in teaching kitesurfing. Its purpose is to help you discover kitesurfing in a convivial atmosphere. Learning to kitesurf is primarily a fun time where everyone progresses at the pace of his experiences on the water. Every one is mobilized to make you share the unique moments that are the first sailing and pure thrill of kitesurfing … There is no particular physical condition to have, because the kitesurfing is attainable by everyone!
The center offers kitesurfing classes, rental and sale of equipment and accessories. It uses marks material F-One, North and Crazyfly, new and renewed at the beginning of each season.
All equipment is provided (wings, sail or kite, boards or kiteboards, harnesses and helmets).
Monitors, whose lessons can be given in English, French or Arabic, will put you in trust and share you their passion for kitesurfing. Appropriate pedagogy, directly born from the Kite Surfing Association and the International Kitesurfing Organisation, will allow you to familiarize yourself with the equipment, safety rules, and navigation techniques.
